We met at the Spirit of Flight Center museum, graciously provided by Gordon Page. It was a beautiful sunny day and we spent much of the time socializing out doors.

Treasurer Brian Cabebe reported that we have approximately $6,900 in cash and equivalents, with little change over the past month. Although the checking account balance is low, we don't anticipate any significant outlays prior to the holiday party and end-of-year membership renewals.
Ben Lowell Aerial Confrontation
The contest at the U.S. Air Force Academy is a "go"! The dates are April 19-21, 2013. Practice on Friday 4/19, contest flying Saturday and Sunday. Our weather dates will be May 3-5, and if that comes to pass the event will be held in Sterling.
The Academy's Jeff Riddlebarger will be the Contest Director and take care of the waiver. DJ will act as liaison with the Academy staff.
There are lots of logistical issues yet to be addressed, including access to a mechanic for the civilian aircraft, fuel, spectator arrangements, hotels, banquet facility, and authorizations for flying into and out of the field.
Since this is a special venue and it's only available to us once every few years, we and the Academy plan to publicize it widely in an attempt to get volunteers and pilots from far and wide. DJ reports that when the contest was announced at Tequila Cup there was a lot of interest and enthusiasm from the attendees.
High Planes HotPoxia Fest
The tentative date for the High Planes HotPoxia Fest is July 20th weekend, at STK. DJ will recruit a volunteer for Contest Director.
Tom Larkin has generously offered the use of his house for the party. Date: Saturday Jan. 26th. The event will be catered, so just bring yourselves. Dinner price is TBD.
Election of Officers
It's time to start thinking about who will represent the chapter in 2013. DJ will publicize the nomination and election process.
John Blum reports that the meeting rooms at Western Air are no longer available. Chris Leach offered the use of his law firm's facilities in downtown Denver. Barring a superior offer (which is hard to imagine!), that's probably the direction in which we will go.
Our next chapter meeting will be December 8th (details).
